香港中文大学(深圳)于2018年11月14日宣布正式成立生命与健康科学学院(School of Life and Health Sciences),是港中大(深圳)继经管学院、理工学院、人文社科学院后的第四所具有从本科及研究生培养体系的学院。
生命与健康科学学院专注于生命与健康科学的教学、科研与创新,致力于成为国际知名的生命和健康科学学院,为学生提供高瞻远瞩的教育机会,开展具有全球影响力的跨学科研究,为生命和健康科学的专业发展、社群发展提供卓越服务。学院课程设置将整合生命科学、健康科学、科研与生物工程设计等,旨在以严谨多元的教育模式,培养出一批该领域的领导者和创新者。
生命与健康科学学院秉承香港中文大学的优良学术传统和严谨治学精神,立足三个“诺奖研究院”的科研基础,瞄准学科前沿和长远目标,开设本科、硕士和博士学位课程。港中大教务会负责审批和监督学位课程,指导及管理授课和教学有关事宜,监管港中大(深圳)学位资格认证的水准。香港中文大学(深圳)毕业生获颁香港中文大学学位证书。生命与健康科学学院于2019年度开始招收生物信息学本科生,并将在2020年起先后开设药学科学及生物医学科学本科专业方向。
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen officially announced the establishment of the School of Life and Health Sciences on November 14th, 2018, which is the fourth school of CUHK-Shenzhen preceded by the School of Management and Economics (SME), the School of Sciences and Engineering (SSE), and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), offering educational programs from baccalaureate to graduate degrees.
The School of Life and Health Sciences (LHS) at CUHK-Shenzhen is to pursue excellence in teaching, research and innovation in life and health sciences for the benefit of human health and well-being. LHS strives to be an internationally recognized life and health science school that offers inspiring educational opportunities for students, conducts interdisciplinary research projects with global impact, and serves the life and health science profession and the community with distinction. The curriculum of LHS will integrate life sciences, health sciences, scientific research and bioengineering design, aiming to cultivate a group of leaders and innovators in this field through a rigorous and diversified mode of education.
Inheriting the excellent academic traditions and rigorous academic spirit of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, established upon the research foundations of the three Nobel Prize Research Institutes, aiming at the frontiers and long-term goals of the disciplines, the School of Life and Health Sciences shall offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees.
The Academic Board of the Chinese University of Hong Kong takes charge of the supervision and approval of degree programs, guiding and managing teaching and teaching-related matters, and supervising the level of CUHK-Shenzhen degree qualification. CUHK-Shenzhen graduates are awarded degree certificates by the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The School of Life and Health Sciences will be open for undergraduate admission in Bioinformatics major in 2019 and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biomedical Sciences in 2020.

生物信息学是一个新兴的多领域交叉学科,它应用计算机科学、信息科学、统计和信息技术来解决生命科学和医学领域的复杂问题。生物信息方面的专业人才对我国未来生物医药科技的发展是必不可少的。尤其在深圳、粤港澳大湾区及国内外各大生物医药领域的需求量将是巨大的。
香港中文大学(深圳)生物信息专业兼顾生物学基础及计算机和生物信息学理论知识与实践能力的培养,重点培养学生的创新创造能力、独立思考能力、科学研究能力,并鼓励学生在瓦谢尔诺奖研究院开展研究。未来,这些学生将成为海内外著名高校相关学科方向争先吸引的研究生培养对象,同时也能参与研究院校、药企、医院等相关部门的研究和工作。
Bioinformatics is an emerging multidisciplinary research area that jointly uses computer science, information science, statistics and information technology to solve complex problems in life sciences and medicine. Bioinformaticians will play an indispensable role in the future development of biomedical science and technology in China. Additionally, the demand for bioinformaticians will be booming in various biomedical fields in Shenzhen, the Great Bay Area as well as other parts of the world.
The Bioinformatics program at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen combines the theoretical knowledge and skill training in biology, computer science and bioinformatics, focusing on cultivating students' innovative and creative abilities, independent thinking skills, scientific research capabilities, and encouging students to do research at Arieh Warshel Institute of Computational Biology. These students are expected to become future postgraduate students wanted by leading research universities at home and abroad, or can also be part of research teams in academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, or other related sectors.

黄宪达教授
课程负责人
黄宪达教授目前担任香港中文大学(深圳)理工学院与瓦谢尔计算生物研究院教授。他毕业于台湾中央大学资讯工程学系博士。他曾任台湾交通大学生物科技学院副院长、台湾生物资讯学会理事长及台湾教育部五年五百亿计划交大生物资讯中心主任。
黄宪达教授的研究主要集中在计算生物、生物信息、基因体学、宏观基因体学、智能生医科技(药物设计、基因检测、精准医疗)、生物数据库设计与开发等领域。过去十年,黄宪达教授在知名期刊上共计发表超过130篇论文,其中包括Science, Nucleic Acids Research,Hepatology与Molecular Cell等。
黄宪达教授所开发的MicroRNA数据库(miRTarBase)是目前国际认可的汇集数据最完整的微小RNA生物数据库,已广为全世界科学家所使用。
Prof. Hsien-Da Huang is a professor at the School of Science and Engineering & Arieh Warshel Institute of Computational Biology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He received PhD at Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Central University, Taiwan. He was the Chairman at Department of Biological Science and Technology, NCTU. He also served as the President of Taiwan Society of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (2014-2017).
Prof. Huang’s group majorly focuses on biological multi-disciplinary research topics, including Bioinformatics, Genomics, Metagenomics and Microbiome, Intelligent Biomedical Technologies (Drug Development, Genetic Test, and Precision Medicine), AI and Machine Learning, and Biological Database Design and Development. During the last ten years, he published more than 130 peer-reviewed publications, mostly in prestigious journals, including Science, Nucleic Acids Research, Hepatology, and Molecular Cell and etc.
Prof. Huang’s group developed a microRNA database, miRTarBase, which is an internationally recognized repository for collecting experimental miRNA-Target interaction (MTI). The database is continuously maintained and now broadly utilized and referred in life sciences and medical research field.

生物信息学是一个跨学科专业,为生物医药科技中最重要的基础与关键领域。生物医药科研与产业的主流发展趋势为通过大量生物信息的产生、数据分析、数学建模、统计预测及实验验证等阶段,产出优质的研究成果,转化为产业应用,提升人类健康与福祉。
本科生透过专业养成,同时储备生命科学与计算科学基本知识,并透过实验操作习得运用计算方法与平台于探索生物机制、解秘致病机转、发展诊断方法、与研发药物和治疗方案等专业技能,培养本科学生成为跨生物与计算双专业的新时代人才与粤港澳大湾区未来高阶人才,作为生物医药科技产业发展的重要基石。
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary specialty that is the most important foundation and key area in biomedical technology. The mainstream development trend of biomedical research and industry is to produce high-quality research results through a large number of biological information generation, data analysis, mathematical modeling, statistical prediction and experimental verification, and transform into industrial applications to enhance human health and well-being.
Undergraduate students develop their basic knowledge of life sciences and computational science through experimental operations and learning of computational methods and platforms to explore biological mechanisms, decipher pathogenesis, develop diagnostic methods, and develop drugs and treatments.
The programme aims to cultivate the students into a new era of cross-biological and computing dual-professional talents and future high-level talents in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as an important cornerstone in the development of biomedical industry.
